Tuolumne Area Photos

We hiked the Gaylor Lakes area which started at the Tioga road entrance station at 10,000 feet.  We went up to the top of the Gaylor lakes (some snow field walking) and on up to an old mining area with stacked rock houses and some pit mines -- views were beautiful. Then we crossed a small ridge to the granite lakes -- it just got better.  We both did well in the altitude, breathing hard sometimes but no other problems.  Getting ready for the High Sierra Camps.

Wildflowers, granite boulders and mountains

A miner's cabin from long ago.  It had a window with a great view. Susan wants to move in and do a fix up -- what do you say Jonathan?

An old pit mine -- several in the area - not marked - just watch your step.

Drinking in the scenery together.

Indian Paint Brush flowers plus others.

We loved the meadows with the boulders.
